On 4 and 5 March 2026<\/strong>, the partners of the ACT4CAP27 <\/a><\/strong>project met at the Higher Technical School of Agricultural, Food and Biosystems Engineering<\/a> <\/strong>(ETSIAAB<\/strong>) <\/strong>at the Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid to hold the project\u2019s third General Assembly.<\/p>\n\n

Over the course of these two days, researchers reviewed the progress made in developing analytical tools and mapped out the strategic priorities needed to support the design of the post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The \u201cACT4CAP27: Advancing Capacity and Analytical Tools for Supporting Common Agricultural Policies post-2027\u201d<\/strong> project is funded by the Horizon Europe programme (Grant Agreement No. 101134874<\/strong>). Its main objective is to strengthen Europe\u2019s capacity to assess the economic, social and environmental impacts of agri-food policies, aligning modelling frameworks with the priorities of the European Green Deal. <\/p>\n\n

As part of the agenda for the project\u2019s annual meeting, the main progress <\/strong>made to date in various strategic areas of ACT4CAP27 was reviewed. Discussions focused on progress in the development and improvement of modelling tools<\/strong> designed to support policy analysis relating to the future of the CAP. <\/p>\n\n

Mar\u00eda Blanco,<\/a><\/strong> the principal investigator for this project at the UPM, presented the progress made in developing the baseline scenario<\/strong> that will serve as the foundation for medium- and long-term policy evaluations <\/strong>within the project. <\/p>\n\n

The sessions included technical discussions and workshops that enabled partners to share knowledge, align methodological approaches and strengthen collaboration within the consortium.<\/p>\n\n

In addition, and running in parallel with the programme sessions, a working meeting was held with the aim of continuing collaboration on the application of complex systems approaches to complement existing models. This is an area of work in which the UPM team is actively involved. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, some sessions of the general assembly were attended by other members of CEIGRAM who occasionally contribute to the project, including Isabel Bardaj\u00ed and Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Sumpsi.<\/p>\n\n

The 3rd General Assembly of ACT4CAP27 concluded by reaffirming the consortium\u2019s commitment to developing advanced scientific tools and approaches to support decision-making within the framework of the post-2027 CAP. Multidisciplinary collaboration between European institutions remains key to strengthening the capacity for agri-food policy analysis and to providing rigorous knowledge in response to the economic, social, environmental and governance challenges facing the European agri-food system. <\/p>\n\n
