Original source: ETSIAAB Communications Office<\/a><\/p>\n\n The Higher Technical School of Agricultural, Food and Biosystems Engineering (ETSIAAB) <\/a>took part in the first edition of UPM Investiga<\/strong>, a two-day event held at the Central de Dise\u00f1o in Matadero Madrid that showcased the scientific and technological capabilities of all the schools and research centres at the Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid <\/a>(UPM).<\/p>\n\n Within the \u2018Bioeconomy and Environment\u2019<\/strong> section \u2013 one of the seven sections into which the fair has been divided, corresponding to the seven areas of expertise at the UPM \u2013 the ETSIAAB showcased some of its research projects, which are of great importance as they are designed to address challenges such as climate change and sustainable food production.<\/p>\n\n Among the demonstrators from ETSIAAB and its research centres present at UPM Investiga were: the Smartagro 5G project, a demonstration of hyperspectral spectroscopy and imaging for Advanced Analysis of Agri-Food Systems, analysis of biomolecules in plants, improvement of cereal crops, a vertical farming module for horticultural production using pulsed light from the Centre for Studies and Research on Agricultural and Environmental Risk Management (CEIGRAM)<\/a>, and a dark chamber for plant growth from the Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics (CBGP).<\/a><\/p>\n\n We were also able to showcase and share various ongoing and recently completed projects that served to illustrate the multidisciplinary nature of the Research Centre, and to connect with a range of initiatives from both the UPM and the visiting public. Initiatives of this kind are intended to act as seeds from which future collaborations can blossom. <\/p>\n\n The following video showcases all of ETSIAAB\u2019s research activities during the Fair.<\/p>\n\n
