William Felipe Melo Zipacon
Agricultural engineer with a Master’s degree in Environment and Development. With 12 years of experience, I have worked extensively in multifunctional agriculture, agroforestry systems, rural development, and climate change adaptation. Currently, I conduct research on cocoa, focusing on cadmium uptake, carbon sequestration, deforestation analysis, and landscape studies. In addition, I contribute to rural development projects in Latin America as part of the Multifunctional Landscapes Research team at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT). I am a PhD student in Agro-Environmental Technology for Sustainable Agriculture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), where I evaluate the impacts of different types of cocoa agroforestry systems on the structure and multifunctionality of landscapes in the Amazon region.
