Event Description
During November 11-22, 2024, COP29, the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was held in Azerbaijan. The Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, together with the Biodiversity Foundation, launched an initiative called ‘Generación Clima‘, through which four young people had the opportunity to attend COP29 as part of the Spanish delegation. They will be the ones to make the presentation of this Seminar.
The history and importance of the Conferences of the Parties will be briefly presented, highlighting the main milestones and limitations of these meetings for climate action, reviewing the past, present and future of climate negotiations at global level and presenting an analysis of the present situation in this area. The main axes of the COP are mitigation, adaptation and climate finance, all of them of great relevance and topicality.
This Seminar will have the format of a Round Table, which seeks to prioritize the debate and the exchange of questions and proposals with the participants, either with the young people of the Generación Clima 29 initiative or with the technicians of the Ministry and the Fundación Biodiversidad.
