García Gutiérrez, Sandra
Graduated in Environmental Sciences from the UAM in 2013, Master’s Degree in Agricultural Chemistry and New Foods from the UAM in 2014, and PhD in Agro-Environmental Technology for Sustainable Agriculture from the UPM in 2025.
Between 2014 and 2015, I worked in the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Food Science at the UAM as part of a phytoremediation project for mining environments contaminated with metals.
Between 2016 and 2018, I worked as a research assistant in the INIA ecotoxicology group on a project studying the effect of ZnO nanoparticles on agricultural ecosystems.
During 2018, I worked at the official plant health diagnostic laboratory of the Community of Madrid, located at IMIDRA, providing technical support in response to emergency actions taken due to the outbreak of Xylella fastidiosa.
Since 2019, I have been part of the COAPA group at ETSIAAB – UPM. My research focuses on evaluating the potential for greenhouse gas mitigation through the implementation of different conservation agriculture practices, as well as the use of nitrification inhibitors in Mediterranean climate agricultural systems. In addition, through the use of 15N isotopic labelling techniques, we study how these practices affect the main processes of N transformation in the soil, as well as the efficiency of N use by crops.
