Lizaso, Jon I.

Associate Professor

Jon I. Lizaso has professional degrees from three different Universities: Universidad Central de Venezuela (Agronomist Engineer), Universidad de Los Andes (Magister Scientiarum) and Michigan State University (PhD).

He conducts research in Crop Systems and Crop Modeling. His research focuses on improving the understanding of the processes and impact of stresses occurring in a crop field, and incorporating that understanding into simulation models, mainly of maize and potato. He works with the DSSAT modeling system (https://dssat.net/), where he has developed the IXIM model, one of the two maize models available.
