PhD from the University of Almería, currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Food Chemistry and Technology at ETSIAAB-UPM. His research focuses on mitigating greenhouse gas emissions (N2O, CH4 and CO2) and nitric oxide (NO) from agricultural activities, together with studying the processes involved (nitrification-denitrification), as well as improving crop yields. Previously, some of the lines of research he has worked on are related to agronomic management to increase soil quality in intensive greenhouse agriculture, and the optimisation of water management and nitrogen fertilisation to reduce pollution associated with nitrate leaching in these production systems.
