A new Research Seminar will take place this Friday, May 23rd at CEIGRAM. The Seminar will be held online and in person, in the CEIGRAM Conference Room, at 12.30 pm.
Vineyard yields are subject to inter-annual variations that depend mainly on the weather conditions of each season. Within a region or a farm, there are also spatial variations that can have multiple causes. This seminar will present results from vineyards of the Albariño (DO Rías Baixas) and Airén (Toledo) varieties, analyze some of the factors that determine yield variability and discuss their application to crop prediction.
Pedro Junquera holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering, a Master’s degree in Viticulture and Enology and is an Expert in Olive Growing. He has worked as a consultant for more than 10 years, mainly in the design, establishment and management of commercial vineyards. He is currently a professor of woody crops at the ETSIAAB and a member of the Viticulture Research Group at the UPM. His research work has focused mainly on irrigation and management of vines and olives, and other aspects of these crops such as soil maintenance, fertilization or management using precision agriculture techniques.
