González-Azcárate, Mario

Assitant Professor

Mario is an agricultural engineer and holds a PhD in Agro-Environmental Technology for Sustainable Agriculture, with a dissertation focused on short food supply chains.

He teaches agricultural economics at ETSIAAB and investigates the sustainability and transformation of food systems. His research focuses on policy and economic analysis, youth participation, governance, and sustainability. He has collaborated with international teams in research and cooperation projects.

He is currently linked to the Spanish chapter of the World Food Forum and serves as President of the Next Gen Impact Network, an international coalition supporting young food system leaders through training, mentoring, and global advocacy.
