Jiménez-Aguirre, Mª Teresa
Agricultural Engineer by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2007), PhD in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Environment by Universidad de Zaragoza (2017) and Master in Hydrology (Centro de Estudios Hidrográficos – CEDEX).
Specialized in the evaluation of water use in agricultural systems and monitoring irrigation return flows, as well as their environmental impact. She carried out the doctoral thesis “Impact of irrigation modernization on the quantity and quality of return flows” through a FPI-2011 grant at the Center for Agri-Food Technology Research of Aragon (CITA). The thesis evaluates irrigation modernization from an agrarian and environmental point of view, including the elaboration of a soil map for hydrological characterization and future modeling.
Currently working at CEIGRAM with the AGUAGRADA project (Evaluating the demand of water for agricultural use for adaptation to climate change), developing a hydrological model using SWAT capable of quantifying the water demand for agricultural use under different climate change scenarios.
