Villacorta Ranera, Cintya
Graduated in Agro-environmental Engineering, with a Double Master in Agronomic Engineering and in Agricultural, Food and Natural Resources Economics from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She has collaborated in the FAO’s “Pilot Program for Global Assessment of Tree Cover and Land Use Trends in Arid Zones”, worked in the IMIDRA soil laboratory, and served as secretary in the Fertiberia Chair of Agro-environmental Studies.
She has also worked for a year at CEIGRAM in collaboration with Cajamar, developing an observatory for the sustainability of the Spanish agri-food sector.
Currently, she is doing her PhD at the Department of Agricultural Economics, under the tutelage of Irene Blanco, thanks to the scholarship of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid’s own program. His research focuses on the analysis of the use of reclaimed water in agricultural irrigation during periods of drought and climate change, within the framework of the RECLAMO project. As part of her training, she has completed a three-month stay at the University of Leeds, supervised by Paula Novo, and another six-month stay at the University of California, Los Angeles, under the supervision of Alvar Escrivá-Bou.
She has participated in several international conferences (EWRA, AEEA, EGU and AGU), where she has shared her research with the scientific community.
