AGROSEGURO and CEIGRAM Strengthen their Collaboration with the creation of the ‘Aula Universidad-Empresa’ “AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE”.

Recently, the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid has signed an agreement for the creation of the Aula Universidad-Empresa’ with AGROSEGURO, the Spanish Group of Insurance Companies of Combined Agrarian Insurance, at the Center of Studies and Research for the Management of Agrarian and Environmental Risks (CEIGRAM). The agreement will strengthen the collaboration between both institutions, which have been working together since 2012 in dissemination and training activities related to Agrarian Insurance.

This reinforcement of the relationship between AGROSEGURO and CEIGRAM, which was institutionalized in 2018 with the entry of AGROSEGURO in the Board of CEIGRAM, aims to establish CEIGRAM as a reference center at national level in training and dissemination in the field of agricultural insurance. Through this agreement, activities will be developed to make available to technicians who provide professional services to society in general, and particularly, to the National System of Agrarian Insurance, the latest developments and professional innovations both scientific and technological and digital in agronomic matters, their applications in the current agricultural challenges, as well as in the risk assessment in Agrarian Insurance.

At the signing ceremony of the agreement that gives rise to the creation of the “Aula Universidad-Empesa”, the following representatives were present: Guillermo Cisneros, Rector of the UPM, Segio de Andrés Osorio, General Director of Agroseguro, José Manuel Palacios, Director of the ETSIAAB, Isabel Bardají and Ana Tarquis, from the CEIGRAM executive board, and Cristina Jimenez and Isabel Grijalvo, coordinators of relations between Agroseguro and CEIGRAM.

Within the framework of this agreement, the following training activities are promoted:

  • Cooperation in training programs/educational cooperation experiences.
  • Organization of conferences and seminars.
  • Meetings of experts in the area of interest of the “Aula”.
  • Collaboration in the teaching of self-chosen subjects.
  • Collaboration in the teaching of postgraduate programs.
  • Support for the realization of end-of-degree projects.
  • Promotion of educational cooperation experiences.
  • Advice on company training plans.
  • Sponsorship of the organization of conferences with invited guests.

Dissemination and knowledge transfer activities:

  • Organization of technical and technological training and dissemination conferences.
  • Publications on topics of interest in the field of the University-Business Room.
  • Promotion of scientific and technical events.
  • Mutual advice on issues related to the activity of both entities.

In conclusion, the University-Business Room “AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE” symbolizes a decisive step towards the modernization and specialization of the agricultural sector through education and institutional collaboration. This agreement will benefit both professionals in the sector and future professionals studying at the University today. This alliance is expected to foster a more resilient and prepared environment to face the current and future challenges of agriculture.
