    Catedrático de Universidad

Prof. Vallejo has been PI of 8 National projects focused on studying the effect of N use efficiency in crops systems. Additionally, I have also led 2 EU projects (IP of Spanish partner), several projects of Madrid Community and, since 2009 I am leading the Consortium Agrisost. During the last 10 years, I have obtained private funds from fertilizers enterprises (Fertiberia, Agrotain, EurochemAgro, Fertinagro, etc) via annuals contracts which has allowed us to improve our material equipment as well as the research team. From 1990, we have collaborated in projects evaluating N leaching under field experiment. His results along this period conclude that irrigation rate affected more to the NO3 leaching losses than the type of N. Since 2000, he has been working in the evaluation of N oxides emission from crop systems, deepening in the mechanism and processes which control these emissions. With the knowledge gained, it is possible to recommend strategies of mitigation based on agricultural practices. He has published 94 SCI papers, 73 in Q1, 7 en Q2, el resto en Q3 y Q4. His h index is 46 (Web Sci)
